What You Need for School
***Many of these items can be purchased when at school***

1. Order your uniform before you arrive and have it delivered to the school: Go to and go to the Campus Life/Community tab and click on School Uniform.  There you will see a breakdown of the uniform requirements and a link at the bottom of the page to view and buy your uniform from Lands’ End.
2. School Supplies: Pencils, pens, erasers, scientific calculator, school bag, paper - these items can be purchased when you arrive.  Canadian Independent College requires ALL students to use three ring binders with dividers.  Research shows that most students who use this organized method have higher averages.

4. Residence Room: Blanket/Comforter/Pillow/Twin size sheets
5. Personal Hygiene: Products: toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, deoderant etc…
6. Winter Clothing: winter coat, boots, hat, gloves, scarf will be needed October/November to April
7. It is MANDATORY you bring 3 passport size photographs and ORIGINAL transcripts of your last two years of school.  The original transcripts you gave Immigration for your visa application do NOT come to the school.
8. If you are on any medication bring a 90 day supply (especially asthma medication) and a doctor’s note. The school MUST be informed upon arrival of any medications you take.

Canadian Weather

Canada has winter, spring, summer and fall seasons. However the climate and intensity of these seasons varies across the country.

In Ontario winter has below zero temperatures most of the time, and -20°C is not uncommon.  There is an accumulation of snow throughout the winter.  At least one or two snowfalls of eight inches or more will likely hit in January and February.

Spring starts in March and can be quite cool in temperature. April usually sees the last of the winter's snow.  There is usually periods of rain in April and May.

Summer is June to August with hot, humid weather.

Cooler temperatures in September provide relief from the heat and humidity of August and leaves on the trees begin their transformation to stunning shades of orange, red and yellow.  There may by periods of rain again in the fall.
